How to maintain two different WhatsApps for each number on a Dual SIM smart-phone

WhatsApp is a remarkable messaging app of our times used by millions of users globally to keep in touch with their friends and relatives. However, it has one serious limitation.

The limitation is that because WhatsApp identifies a user based on his/her phone number, each instance of WhatsApp can be used to login through only ONE phone number you have. But what will you do if you have a Dual SIM phone with two numbers? Let's say one of them is primary and you are already using WhatsApp by identifying through it. Now, let's assume that you want to chat with someone through that other alternative number too, what will you do then?

One way is to give the other person your primary WhatsApp number and ask them to send message there. But let's say you don't want to give them the primary number, what then? Or alternatively, you just want to check out if someone has been trying to message you through WhatsApp using the alternative number, what then? In both these cases, you will need two "instances" of WhatsApp which isn't normally possible to have on the same smart-phone, so let's learn how to do it.

To solve this problem, you will need to install an app called WhatsApp Business from Google Play Store. This second WhatsApp variant is generally intended to be used by businesses and self employed people but in this case, you can use it to have a separate WhatsApp instance for your alternate number. Once you install the app, you'll see a new "WA Business" icon which is similar to WhatsApp icon:

Start the WhatsApp Business app and proceed with it just like you normally do but using your alternate number this time. If it asks for your business or profession, you can just skip it by specifying that its a non-business account. That's it, install WhatsApp Business and keep enjoying two WhatsApp instances on a single smart-phone!
